Write notes, tasks, papers and citations
Compose standalone research, insert attributed excerpts and generate five citation styles.
Research documents
Create exactly one of four authoring kinds: note, task list, paper or blog post. The browser-native editor supports a bounded Markdown and task-list preview, keeps a recoverable local draft between reloads and applies Reading serif, Lexend, OpenDyslexic or the system sans face to both writing and preview without sending text to a font service.
Choose Split to keep writing and live preview beside each other on a wide screen; it stacks them on a narrow screen. Write and Preview provide focused single-pane views. This browser-only presentation preference never changes the note body or account version.
A private topic tree up to six levels deep keeps authored research distinct from saved-source collections and highlight folders. Insert a source-credited highlight into the open draft with the accessible Add action or drag-and-drop; both paths retain the exact quote, publication, source URL, folder, label and annotation that exist.
- Open Research and choose a document kind and optional topic.
- Choose Split, Write or Preview, then write or paste the complete body and review its live preview.
- Insert an attributed highlight by button or drag-and-drop, then save the account version when the deployment is configured.
Archive safely
Archive removes a research object from the active workspace without erasing it. Its title, type, topic and body become read-only in the archived view; restore it before editing again, and use the separately confirmed permanent-delete action only from that archived state.
- Choose Archive from an active account object.
- Open Archived and review the read-only title, body and preview.
- Restore it, or confirm Delete permanently when it is no longer needed.
Citation generator
Cite on an eligible Library card or its organizer opens the same Composer Research panel with citation metadata focused. Review the recovered title, author, publication and date without changing Reader or the immutable source snapshot; an invalid corrected date remains a visible warning and Use recovered metadata reversibly clears every private correction.
APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard and Vancouver remain visible together. Each style has its own named Copy action, while Copy bibliography includes all five plus source URL, snapshot identity, access date, reviewed-field disclosure and metadata warnings. Download the same escaped bibliography as standalone HTML or Word-compatible DOC, or use the browser-owned Print / Save as PDF path.
- Choose Cite from an eligible saved web source.
- Review or correct the four bounded metadata fields and inspect every generated style.
- Copy one style or the full bibliography, or choose HTML, Word or Print / Save as PDF.
