Preview, preserve and revisit a source

Switch among inert preview, deliberate live web, permanent versions and source research.

01

Four preview views

Preview uses stored inert material, Web loads a live origin only after a deliberate click, Permanent Copy reopens an immutable version and Highlights shows source research. Images, audio, video and bounded map media also wait for an explicit load. Changing publications resets every live-provider choice and editable organizer field.

  1. Choose a Library item and open its side preview.
  2. Select Preview, Web, Permanent Copy or Highlights; use Left/Right or Up/Down, Home and End from the tab row when navigating by keyboard.
  3. Choose the separate Load action before contacting a website or media provider.
02

Portable permanence

After a saved web source composes successfully, configured private storage automatically attaches a content-addressed replay snapshot and one scriptless HTML edition to that exact version. Raw-HTML sources can retain guarded static styling, fonts and images; browser-semantic sources receive a labelled Ratdolt reading edition. Saved account images and explicitly cloud-saved PDFs retain their exact private bytes, while device-only PDFs remain local.

Each web edition is self-contained and dependency-free: ads, trackers, scripts, forms, video, audio and iframes are removed. Download it as one portable file, keep a digest-verified copy on this browser or reopen any immutable account version even after the source changes.

  1. Open a saved Library item and choose Preview.
  2. Choose Permanent Copy to inspect source versus Ratdolt fidelity, resource completeness and version history.
  3. Open a stored copy, download its one-file HTML or choose Keep on this device for deliberate offline retention.
