Use reading aids and browser speech

Configure the ruler, accessibility type, motion, narration voice, rate and pitch.

01

Reading aids

The fixed reading ruler has bounded colour, opacity, height and viewport position. High-contrast and reduced-motion paths keep the reading complete, and accessibility fonts work in both reading and research writing.

  1. Open Composer and choose Accessibility.
  2. Enable the ruler or select an accessibility face.
  3. Save defaults only if future readings should begin this way.

Listen and auto-scroll

Whole-document, exact selected-text and current-PDF-page narration use only voices exposed by this browser. Long text is read as bounded sequential parts with visible progress, a fixed Stop action, completion and error feedback. Voice, rate and pitch persist as deliberate defaults; active speech never survives Escape, editing, deletion, PDF page navigation, closing or reload.

Auto-scroll has explicit direction and speed. Start or pause it from Reading or Alt+A; while it moves, a fixed Pause action remains available after the panel scrolls away. It stops at the matching edge, before Edit or Delete, on Escape, and never resumes just because a saved workspace reopened.
