Know what Ratdolt can open
Understand public-network, access, size, media and site-owner policy boundaries before troubleshooting.
Public URL boundary
Ratdolt accepts ordinary public HTTP(S) sources. It refuses embedded credentials, private or local network targets, login-dependent material and other unsafe destinations. Video, audio, iframes and active scripts are not preserved inside reading editions.
- Confirm that the URL opens publicly without your signed-in browser state.
- Remove tracking fragments or embedded credentials.
- Use a local PDF in Composer when the source is a document on your device.
Owner policy and limits
An exact host may publish a same-origin well-known Ratdolt manifest to identify content roots, exclusions and image permission. It can narrow acquisition but never relax safety, access or product limits.
