Understand credits, storage and billing
Free and Pro keep identical reading fidelity; volume and delivery profiles are the commercial boundary.
What a credit means
One credit covers the first successful composition of a source up to the published page boundary. Failed compositions and reopening an existing Library object do not consume another credit; Ratdolt never adds an automatic overage.
- Check the plan table for the current allowance.
- Save URLs credit-free when you only need the bookmark.
- Compose when the source is ready to become a Reader object.
Private files and subscription lifecycle
Preserved images, explicit cloud PDFs, permanent snapshots and portable HTML share one atomic account allowance. Device-only PDFs, ordinary notes and metadata do not consume those file bytes.
Stripe hosts card entry, invoices, payment methods, plan changes and cancellation. Stopping renewal keeps Pro through the paid term, then returns the account to Free without deleting its Library. A failed renewal receives retry grace and a bounded email; an unpaid or ended subscription uses Free allowances.
- Open Billing to review the current plan, renewal or end date and allowance.
- Open the secure Stripe portal for invoices, payment updates, plan changes or cancellation.
- If payment needs attention, update it before the provider retry schedule ends.
